The Kek size reduction and particle size classification equipment has roots which go back to 1915 when the Chemical Engineering Company, then based at Ancoats in Manchester, was the first to introduce horizontal type pin grinding mills into the UK.
A separate company named Kek Ltd was formed in 1924 to handle the manufacture and sale of the mills to the growing UK market. In 1961 Kek imported the first centrifugal sifters into the UK as distributor for a German manufacturer. From 1964 onwards they began to manufacture the sifters themselves in the UK.
Kek has a long established history and is a well-known and respected name in the Powder Processing world, delivering a class leading range of Size Reduction Mills and Centrifugal Sifters that are arguably the best in the industry.
The range of Gardner mixers and blenders started with William Gardner & Sons Ltd, Gloucester-based engineers who first began making mixing machines back in 1860.
Today, Kek-Gardner Ltd offers an extensive range of Gardner mixers and double cone blenders as well as being able to offer complete 'mixing stations' with ancillaries incorporating sifters, feeders, electronic controls etc., all mounted on a suitable structure.
In addition to the standard mixer range, Kek-Gardner Ltd has the process knowledge and applications experience to design sophisticated processor/reactor type mixers capable of operating at elevated or reduced temperatures and under pressure or vacuum conditions.
Powder Process Systems (PPS) was founded in 1989 and quickly became market leaders in ultra fine milling systems especially in the Powder Coatings sector. They were the originators of the “clam shell” design of Air Classifier Mill, which gives major user benefits where rapid product changeover or access for inspection and cleaning are prime requirements.
As a brand within the Kek-Gardner range, the PPS range of mills along with the extensive range of Kek size reduction equipment give Kek-Gardner Ltd the fine grinding capability to meet the individual application requirements of the Food, Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Powder Coatings Industries.
